The Paris International Air Show is held at Le Bourget Exhibition
Park (Parc des Expositions du Bourget). It's north of Paris, in
between the city and Ch de Gaulle. You can get there by RER.
The next one will be June 13-19, 2005 (held every two years).

If you want to be close to the airport for an early departure without staying at the airport, here's a recommended place:

Airports to Paris Transportation
To get from the airports into Paris you have several choices:
For both airports:
1) Taxi - the best and easiest. Walk outside the terminal and get on the taxi line. Just be sure it has a sign on the roof "Taxi Parisien." Door to door service. While most taxis only take 3 people unless the 4th is a child, there are now many larger taxis that will take 4 people but you may have to wait for them. Just indicate the number of people when you get to the front of the line. Cost is about $35 from Orly and $40-45 from Ch de Gaulle, depending on traffic. If you have a lot of luggage you'll pay a little more (that's another problem, having a lot of luggage - not much room for a lot). You'll also pay a supplement for the 4th person.
2) Shuttle Buses - Here are a few. Many people happy but many have had bad experiences such as the bus not showing up, coming very late, so that I always suggest a taxi. Just not worth the aggravation beginning your trip with problems

Fax them with your flight and arrival information.
There are other ways using trains, other buses, but understand you'll still have to get to your hotel and schlepping luggage through the metro, up and down steps, is no fun at all.
For Charles de Gaulle specifically:
RoissyBus: Departures every 15 minutes from Ch de Gaulle
Stops in Paris at the old Opera house on rue Scribe. Takes about
45 minutes.
RER "B": There is an RER line (B) at the airport that will take you into Paris and connects with other RER lines and the metro.
Air France Coach. Stops in Paris at Porte Maillot, Arc de Triomphe, Gare Montparnasse, Gare de Lyon.
For Orly specifically:
Air France Bus - Stops in Paris at Montparnasse Train Station,
Invalides, and at your request only, the metro stations of Porte
d'Orléans and Duroc.
OrlyBus: Stop in Paris at Denfert-Rochereau.
OrlyVal: Metro runs to RER station Antony. From there take the RER into Paris.
OrlyRail: RER line C. - Stops at Austerlitz, St. Michel.

Apartments in Paris
For apartments contact the following....they all rent apartments. I've heard good and bad about all the services, mostly good, I haven't received any really negative reports about any of them. Like hotels and restaurants, different people have had different experiences.
Check to be sure they don't have hidden charges; be sure you get the final price. Check to see what's provided - linens, towels, whatever. Also you should be sure that they have someone in Paris to help you in case of problems rather than being left on your own.
Apartments have their advantages and disadvantages. They're certainly great for a family, you can do some cooking or at least keep food in the apartment, they're roomy. Disadvantages are trying to work the appliances with instructions in French, and not having the desk people there to help you. If you arrive and don't like it, or it isn't as specified, that could be a problem. Trying to get a deposit back can be a lesson in futility. Photos on the web or in brochures can be very deceiving - a wide angle lens can make a small apartment look huge and spacious.
These are in alphabetical order. I'd suggest you check with as many as possible to see if they have the accomodation arrangements, locations, prices that you're interested in and also check with them for the caveats above.

Arrondisement Choice
It's not critical at all where you stay as long as you're in the central area. The various areas (arrondisements)
are right next to each other, across the street from each other. There's no great demarcation
line. Everyone has their own favorite area they will argue for, from the Latin Quarter to St Germain to the Islands
to the Marais to the Louvre area and on and on.
You'll be out and about the whole city anyway, and the city is
so easy to get around you can go to most areas quickly and easily
for sites, restaurants, etc. The 1st, the 6th, parts of the 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th - they would all be fine for a first
timer. If you're looking at hotels, look at addresses - 75001 is the 1st arrondisement, 75002 the 2nd, 75003 the
3rd, etc. The closer to the center the better.

Bicycling in Paris
Here's some information about renting bicycles in Paris:
You can rent bicycles at several locations, and rental includes helmets, locks, all necessary stuff including baby seats. The first four places also have organized tours at various levels; some of the others may - you should call them if you're interested in a tour. Many quais along the Seine are closed to automobiles for a time on Sundays - good time for riding.
